repentance.

psalm 38:4-8
"my guilt has overwhelmed me like a burden too heavy to bear. my wounds fester and are loathsome because of my sinful folly. i am bowed down and brought very low; all day long i go about mourning. my back is filled with searing pain; there is no health in my body. i am feeble and utterly crushed; i groan in anguish."
i think david is one of the most devoted people to God in the Bible. the reason why is because, even though david did many sinful things, he always repented and turned back to God. even in the Bible, God refers to david in act 13:22 as "..a man after my own heart." when we are going through difficult times, many of us, myself included, want to handle it and think we can do it by ourselves. but the whole purpose of praying is to ask God for help and to depend on Him. i love this verse because david says all these things about how he's suffering from the guilt of sin, and if you continue to read the verse, at the end of the verse he asks God to come to him. i think that we should have this attitude in our lives. when we're struggling from the weight of the world, we should ask God to come to us and help us because we don't need to go through it alone.
